1). Explain the process of organizing your lesson. When did you meet?  How did you communicate? What was effective/ineffective?

We made a google doc to put the information on it and the outline. We met every Friday evening around 8 pm and we stayed around two hours. We used a google hangout video to talk with each other and share the ideas and discussed the plan process. Everything was great we had not any problem everyone in the group engaged with other and support each other ideas.


What did you (You personally, not your group.) do well? Focus on how you were able to work with others, communicate effectively, and solve problems.

I actually I was very engaged with the group. I was always there when they wants to meet. I always check the google doc to make sure If someone add anything or edit anything so it helped me to be on track on our plan. We did not have any problem in our group even if someone had an idea we would try to make it fit in the plan so nobody will be sad.


What would you do differently/change for next time?

I would not change anything because everything was perfect.


What did your group do well? What didn’t go well in your group? What role did each group member play in the process of developing and executing the presentation?


The most perfect thing in our group that we understand each other and we support each other ideas. Everyone did great on the work. Actually we did not have each had specific roles.  We sit together and we did plan together each part together so we can make sure that we are on same page and everyone knows all the part for the plan instead of being only know one part that if you only do one part.


Was this a worthwhile experience? Explain.

Yeas definitely this was a worthwhile experience to know more about media literacy and how social media can effect young generation and how we can engage with young generation

I need to write a critical reflective piece of work about a young person in placement in the leaving care team.


I previously had contact with this young person when I was on placement last year in a foster agency. This young person was on my caseload then and on my final placement I have the young person on my case load in the leaving care team.


This young person and her family have been known to social services since 2005. The issues surrounding social services being involved is round the young persons mum not being able to cope with the young persons behaviour. The young person has been diagnosed with ADHD and ODD and her childhood has been challenging with her presenting aggressive and violent behaviours.


Initially after leaving her mothers home the young person went to live with her grandparents but her behaviours became too much for the grandparents and they asked for social services to intervene. At this point the young person was self harming as well and the grandparents did not feel that they could keep her safe.


The young person was eventually accommodated under a section 20.


The young person has had two foster placements break down due to her behaviour and when I met her she had been placed in a new foster placement. The young person has displayed signs of aggressive behaviours verbally and physically but she seemed t overcome these, she was able to speak to both foster carers and the problems seemed to get resolved. The young person was attending college and had a new girlfriend, which could be quite volatile at times. Whilst I was in placement the relationship did become a bit fraught and at one time it seemed like the placement was going to breakdown due to her behaviours.


When my placements was finished the placement seemed stable and the young person seemed to understand about the behaviours that she was displaying but she was able to control them.


When starting my second year placement I cam across this young person again and was informed that the previous foster placement where I knew her from had broken down and she as wit new foster carers and had been there for about eight weeks. The previous placement broke down due to volatile behaviours and I believe that the foster carers felt that they were no longer able to cope with the young person. When I went to meet the young person again I could not believe the change that I witnessed. This young person was full of confidence and was very happy with life in general. She was very happy with her new foster placement and felt like she fitted in as part of the family. This young person was more than happy to talk to me about what she had been doing and what she had achieved and this was a huge contrast compared to the previous year when conversation was very hard to get out of the young person.


This young person was extremely positive about her future and was keen to tell me what the involved and how she was going to achieve it. This was lovely to see. Obviously the other placement just wasn’t right for the young person but this placement I feel is going to be extremely beneficial to this young person and will also help her grown towards her own independence and eventually being able to live n her own independently.

The computing project Properties of Areas concerns the computation of various properties
of cross sectional areas. In each of our theories (i.e., axial bar, torsion, and beams) we arrive
at a point where we need certain properties of the cross section to advance the analysis. For
the axial bar we needed only the area; for torsion we needed the polar moment of inertia;
for the beam we will need moment of inertia of the cross section about the centroid of the
cross section.
We can develop an algorithm that allows the computation of all of the properties of a cross
section if the cross section can be described as a polygon. The algorithm is built on formulas
for the properties of a triangle. What that program will do is create a triangle from the
origin and the two vertex nodes associated with a side of the polygon. Whether this polygon
adds or subtracts from the accumulating properties will be determined from the vectors
defining the sides of the polygon (see the CP Notes for further clarification). If you loop
over all of the sides, the end result will be the properties of the entire cross section.
The general steps are as follows:
1. Develop a routine that allows you to describe the cross section with a sequence of
points numbered in a counterclockwise fashion starting with 1. The last point
should be a repeat of the first one in order to close the polygon. Some suggestions:
a. Store the (x,y) coordinates of each point in a single array x(N,2), where N
is the number of points required to describe the cross section (including
the repeat of the first point as the last point) and the first column contains
the x values of the coordinate and the second column contains the values
of the coordinate and the second column contains the y value.
b. It will eventually be a good idea to put the input into a MATLAB function
and call the function from your main program. That way you can build up
a library of cross sectional shapes without changing your main program.
c. If you need a negative area region (for a cutout section like in an open
tube) then number the points in that region in a counter-clockwise fashion.
Just keep numbering the vertices in order (no need to start over for the
negative areas).
2. Develop a routine to loop over all of the edges of the polygon and compute (and
accumulate) the contributions of the triangle defined by the vectors from the origin
to the two vertices of the current side of the triangle (that gives two sides) and the

vector that points from the first to the second vertex (in numerical order). Calculate
the area, centroid, and outer-product contributions to the properties (see the CP
Notes for clarification of this issue).
3. Compute the orientation of the principal axes of the cross section using the eigenvalue
solver in MATLAB (eig) on the moment of inertia matrix J. See the CP
Notes for more information on this task.
4. Create an output table (print into the Command Window) giving the relevant cross
sectional properties. Develop a routine to plot the cross section. Include the location
of the centroid of the cross section in the graphic (along with lines defining
the principal axes if you can figure out how to do that).
5. Generate a library of cross sections, including some simple ones (e.g., a rectangular
cross sections) to verify the code. Include in your library as many of the following
cross sections as you can get done:
a. Solid rectangle with width b and height h.
b. Solid circle of radius R.
c. Rectangular tube with different wall thickness on top and bottom.
d. I-beam with flange width b, web depth d, flange thickness tf, and web
thickness tw.
e. Angle section with different leg lengths and leg thicknesses.
f. Circular tube with outside radius R and wall thickness t.
g. T-beam.
6. Use the program to explore aspects of the problem. For example,
a. Why is it more efficient to use an open circular tube for torsion rather than
a solid cylinder?
b. For beam bending we can control deflections and reduce stresses with a
large moment of inertia about the axis of bending. Show the trade-offs
available in an I-beam when you can select different web and flange depths
and thicknesses. What is the ideal allocation of material? Why would we
never actually do that in practice?
c. Demonstrate that the principal axes of a symmetric cross section lie along
the lines of symmetry. You can do this by showing that the off-diagonal
elements of J are zero for symmetric sections with axes so chosen.
d. Explore any other feature of the problem that you find interesting.

Analyze the financial performance of your firm and, using historical financial statements for the last 5 years. Examine any relevant trends within your company over the past five years and compare your firm’s performance to the industry wherever possible.
